~~~BIO~~~
Still I'm Sad was formed in September 1999 by Yannis "The Loner" (guitars, vocals) and Jim Daco "The Rebel" (bass)! Their first self-titled demo tape was recorded @YTLn Studio and it was released on the 23rd of April 2000. An instrumental version the song "Still I'm Sad" was included in the demo, together with the song "Tears In The Hands Of Time":
In the beginning of 2001 Still I'm Sad joined forces with Aris Rom (keys, vocals) and they recorded their first full-band demo called "Memories" @IRom Studio in Saronida. The demo consisted of 6 songs (including the songs "Memories", "Still I'm Sad" with lyrics and the song "So Much Left To Say") and it was released on the 25th of February 2001. On the 8th of April 2001 the demo was re-released with two bonus tracks:
Still I'm Sad started recording their first studio album "Forever and Never" @R.P.N. Studio in Piraeus in September 2001. Yannis and Jim now joined forces with Peter "RPN" on drums and backing vocals, and they released their first single "A Night's Dream" on the 5th of December 2001. The single included the songs "Forever And Never" and "A Night's Dream":
The very tallented keyboard-player, Alex "Red Carpet", and the vocalist Maria "Snow" joined the band in early 2002 and Still I'm Sad finished the recordings of their first studio mini-album "Forever and Never" on March 2002. The album consisted of 6 songs (including the 2001-demo song "So Much Left To Say", "Night Falls" (written by YTLn in 1998), "Don't Ask" and "This Ain't Love"):
From 2002 to 2004, Still I'm Sad gave many live shows in Athens and various changes were made in the original line-up.
In October 2003 Pavlos "SnakEye" joined SIS on drums, Sophia P. joined SIS on keyboards and the band started recording their second studio album, "Tears In The Hands Of Time" (that included the 2001-demo songs "Memories", "Still I'm Sad" and the 2000-demo song "Tears In The Hands Of Time"). The album was recorded live @Sound Machine Studio in Piraeus and it was released on the 19th of April 2004:
The band gave their final live show at Hard Rock Cafe in Piraeus, Greece on the 1st of February 2004 and they released an album with cover songs (some recorded live), "B' Sides vol.1, 2, 3", and a DVD with their live performance @Hard Rock Cafe:
During the recordings of the 3rd (official) studio album "A Song For A Dream", Pavlos "SnakEye" decided to leave the band, with Yannis TLn taking over the recordings of the drums. The album was recorded @Sound Machine Studio in Piraeus and it was released on the 4th of August 2004:
Peter "Dark" joined Still I'm Sad on drums right after the release of the album "A Song For A Dream" in 2004 and the band started recording their 4th studio album @Sound Machine Studio in late 2004/early 2005. The album "Fantasy" was released on the 11th of March 2005:
In the fall of 2005, and after a 6-month break, Still I'm Sad returned to the studio determined to find their musical identity that was lost due to many reasons. They started rehearsing constantly and they released two melodic rock albums (with English lyrics) within 2006. On March they released their 5th studio album "Forever After" (that included the songs "Never Be The Same Again", "Still In Love With You" and "Forever After") and on November 2006 they released their 6th studio album; "Come Hell Or High Water" (that included the songs "Like A Phoenix Rising", "In a Long-Cold Ride", "Shot In The Name of Love" and "Could Have Been Me-Could Have Been I"). In 2023 both albums were Remastered and officially released:
Still I'm Sad started recording their 7th studio album, "Falling In Deep", in late 2006/early 2007 and they released the album during the summer of 2007. "Falling In Deep" is considered to be their best album ever and it includes the songs "The Embers of Love", "Through The Infinite Waves of Life", "All We Are", "Running Away From You", "Embrace The Silence" and "Falling In Deep". The album was Remastered and it was officially released in February 2024:
During the summer of 2007 Still I'm Sad recorded a compilation of songs from their latest three albums at I.E.K. Domi studios. These songs later appeared as bonus tracks on their previously released albums:
The summer of 2007 finds Still I'm Sad changing their sound once again! They started recording their heaviest studio album "Live To Die In Nevermore" at Sound Machine Studio. It is during the recordings of this album that Still I'm Sad disbanded (late August 2007) and the album was never finished:
Finally, Still I'm Sad released two "Best Of" albums (with many unreleased tracks) in 2008 (one includes songs with Greek lyrics and the other includes songs with English lyrics):
Yannis and Peter re-joined forces a year later and formed a cover-band named "Shoot 'em Up" (from August 2008 until February 2009). Shoot 'em Up also covered the SIS song "Never Be The Same Again" from the 2006-studio album "Forever After":
In 2010/2011 Yannis TLn and Peter "Dark" recorded a couple of SIS-flavoured songs in an attempt to resurrect Still I'm Sad:
The idea of recording a Still I'm Sad album remained an idea and Yannis TLn started working on solo albums (with Peter playing the drums on various YTLn-songs from 2009 to 2011). The albums "Shadow of A Dream", that was released in March 2012, and the album "WeatheReport", that was released in May 2013, are considered the best representatives of YTLn's music:
Yannis "The Loner"released "Homeward Bound" in 2023, his first studio album after 10 years, and the feedback received was amazing. In 2024 "Born to Run" was released:
In 2024 YTLn will release two more studio albums: "Rewritten Memories", consisting of a combination of SiS songs re-recorded in 2024 & "Northern Skies; Act I & II".
During the recordings of "Northern Skies", Yannis "The Loner" reconnected with Pavlos "SnakEye" and on the 19th of April, exactly 20years after the release of "Tears in the hands of time", they announced a new Still I'm Sad album, called "Echoes from the Past":
